NAI Supplies Bridge and Gantry Cranes for the Rebar Industry
May 2005
North American Industries (NAI) has supplied numerous cranes for the rebar industry over the years. Most recently, NAI turned their blueprints for two bridge cranes into a physical reality for a large rebar contractor.
Rebar is steel in the form of rods or bars used to reinforce concrete structures. Oftentimes, the nature of the application in this industry requires a crane that can manage extremely high duty cycles and perform in ever changing outdoor conditions. NAI’s heavy duty class D cranes easily satisfy the stipulations for a material handling solution that is durable enough to make frequent lifts and be exposed to the elements. Furthermore, NAI designs cranes tailor made to each order so that the crane suits the application precisely. For example, NAI designed a gantry crane customized for the rebar industry with two hooks on one trolley for long load handling.
On the latest order for the rebar industry, NAI also contributed runway design, installation, operator instruction, and 24 hours a day, 7 days a week customer service support.
