NAI Supplies Gantry Crane for Handling Materials Needed to Build New Chinese Embassy

The Chinese government is building a new embassy in Washington D.C. and some materials needed to build the embassy are being shipped from China. The outdoor gantry crane, designed and manufactured by North American Industries (NAI), will be used to unload containers of construction materials.

The unloaded containers must be stored in an outdoor area. Therefore, NAI had to design the 30 ton gantry system for outdoor weather conditions. In addition to designing and manufacturing the gantry crane, NAI also provided other support such as determining the best type of crane for the application, installing the crane, and providing operator instruction. The planned duration of constructing the new Chinese embassy is approximately two years.
